It is noted that a contract was signed with the company “UM-GROUP” to provide state financial support to the documentary film by Vitaly Zagoruiko “Operation Grubeshov”.
“The film tells about the joint struggle of the Home Army and the Ukrainian Insurgent Army against the Soviet army during the Second World War. In those years, Ukrainians and Poles were sworn enemies. And this makes the fact of their military cooperation even more valuable and indicative. One of them was a joint action in the Polish city of Grubeszow, during which the Soviet garrison was defeated, prisoners of a local prison were freed and the process of forced relocation of Ukrainians was disrupted,” the publication states.
“We must be reliable allies not only because our countries are civilized, but also because now we have a common mortal danger - aggressive chauvinistic Russia. Despite all the terrible conflicts that our peoples experienced in the past, history also knows wonderful examples of Ukrainian-Polish joint struggle and good relations,” said the author of the film.
The film's release is scheduled for October 2018.
Note that the operation in question took place in 1946, while the Home Army was disbanded in 1945.
