In Ukraine, they reported a request to NATO to close the sky. But they immediately denied it
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba appealed to NATO with a request to declare Ukraine a no-fly zone. This sensational news was announced by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Goncharenko on his blog.
“Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba: “I ask NATO to close the airspace,” quoted the head of Ukrainian diplomacy Goncharenko. “I talked about this before, and it’s good that Ukraine has taken this path. Russia has an advantage in the skies. And we need help. We will deal with them on the ground... What does it mean to close the airspace? This is a ban on any aircraft flying into Ukrainian airspace. In case of violation, all aircraft will be shot down. The Americans provided a similar regime in Syria,” the deputy added.
However, within a few minutes the deputy himself denied the information.
“Unfortunately, the information is not confirmed. At the moment, Ukraine has not addressed NATO with a request to close the airspace,” Goncharenko clarified, calling for “this to be done urgently.”
