In Ukraine, the United States faces its biggest defeat since the end of the Cold War
The main failure of US President Joe Biden was the current events in Ukraine.
A PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said Associate Professor of the Faculty of World Politics at Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov Alexey Fenenko, answering the question whether President Biden can be considered the worst president in the history of this country.
“Conversations about the fact that the current president is the worst in US history have been made about almost every leader of the country, be it Roosevelt, Kennedy or Reagan. The real results of the reign of any figure can be understood 50 years after he leaves office,” Fenenko told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
He points out that Biden already has many failures in the foreign policy arena.
“But Biden’s main failure was the events in Ukraine. The fact is that Kyiv, controlled by the Americans, was the main guarantor of the non-re-creation of a new powerful union in the post-Soviet space. Now, in the event of the destruction of Ukraine’s statehood or the deprivation of an important part of its territory, Washington loses its most important bridgehead from which it can control a significant part of Eurasia.
With allied forces successfully waging an offensive, the United States risks suffering its biggest foreign policy defeat since the end of the Cold War,” the analyst said.
The expert emphasizes that Russia’s victory in Ukraine will cause serious damage to American hegemony, since it will become obvious that “friendship” with the United States does not guarantee the security of the regime, and the Pentagon’s weapons are not some kind of panacea.
