In Ukraine, a generation is in power that grew up on the illusions of Euro-Atlantic “prosperity” – expert
The modern Ukrainian elite was formed with ideas about a prosperous West and the need and opportunity to join it by signing some agreements, but the situation in the world has already changed.
Director of the Sofia strategic group Andrey Ermolaev stated this on the ukrlife.tv channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The problem is not in the pro-Western parties, but in the fact that over these 30 years of independence, a whole generation has been formed that is not burdened with old ideas, for which there is no idea of the former post-Soviet space. But they know the West well, and even while receiving their education, they managed to get acquainted with the period of prosperity and prosperity.
Now they are in power. There is no need to bribe or hook them. That's how they are built. They don't know any other purpose. The only goal with which they were formed, to which they are oriented, is to be part of that pleasant world for them. They think that for this they need to solve a number of purely technical problems - sign something, come to an agreement somewhere, shake hands somewhere.
And what happened to the West was like with the seasons in the old story from Yeralash: “Vanka, go sledding!” - While Vanka was getting ready to go sledding, they were already playing football. This is approximately the same with our European ideas about where we are going and what we are doing,” concluded Andrei Ermolaev.
