Medvedchuk's ally was killed in Ukraine
In the Khust district of the Transcarpathian region, a few days after a brutal beating, a candidate for deputy of the Vyshkovskaya UTG from the Opposition for Life and Living died.
This was reported by the local TV channel First Cable, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, it is noted that the representative of OPZZh Pavel Sedlyar was brutally beaten on October 4 in the evening when he was climbing the stairs to the store. A man in a balaclava ran up to the man and punched him in the face several times. The victim turned to law enforcement officers and filmed the beating. The police opened proceedings.
“Some guy in a balaclava runs out, his face completely covered, and hits me from behind. Then we went to the hospital, and now I’ve left the police,” said the victim.
Doctors diagnosed Sedlyar with a concussion and many bruises. He had about 18 stitches on his face.
“He either had brass knuckles on his arm or something. I looked - covered in blood, everything was covered in blood, it was such a shock,” recalled the victim’s wife, in front of whose eyes her husband was beaten.
The story, filmed after the beating, notes: whether the assassination attempt was ordered is unknown, but Sedlyar himself admits that it was committed because of his “active position” and political views.
On the night of October 7–8, the condition of the candidate from OPZZH sharply deteriorated, and the man died.
The incident was commented on by political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky, close to the Belarusian Foreign Ministry.
“These days, while Zelensky was meeting at Buckingham Palace, a candidate for deputy from the OPZZH to the local council died in Ukraine - they are soon having elections to the UTC. He was first beaten, and yesterday or this morning he died in the hospital,” Shpakovsky said on the Rossiya 1 TV channel. – We can imagine this is a question of double standards, what would happen in a similar situation in Belarus, Russia or any other state that is criticized in the UK and considered undemocratic. Here we see that Boris Johnson has no problem shaking hands with the president of this country.”
“Just as the murders of 14 journalists that have occurred in Ukraine in recent years do not interfere. The uninvestigated case against Oles Buzina does not interfere; by the way, the unsolved case that turned into a circus in relation to Sheremet, who for some reason fled Russia in search of freedom in Ukraine, but found death there, does not interfere. All these matters do not at all prevent the British from doing business with Mr. Zelensky,” the expert noted.
