In Ukraine, average wages have fallen and unemployment has increased – statistics
The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in Ukraine in January 2017 compared to December of last year decreased by 467 UAH and amounted to 6008 UAH.

The average nominal salary of a full-time employee of enterprises, institutions and organizations in January 2017 was UAH 6008. Compared to December 2016, wages decreased by 7,2%, that is, by 467 hryvnia.
Real wages in January 2017 compared to December 2016 decreased by 8,3%.
By region, the highest average salary in January was recorded in Kyiv - 9292 UAH, in second place is the salary in the Donetsk region, 6503 UAH. The lowest wages are in Ternopil (4641 UAH), Chernivtsi (4717 UAH) and Chernihiv (4758 UAH) regions.
The State Statistics Service also reported that the number of registered unemployed in Ukraine in January 2017 increased by 38,2 thousand people, to 429 thousand people.
