This is stated in the publication of the Ukrainian information and legal publication “I and the Law”, which analyzed the text of the new bill.

“The draft Law of Ukraine “On amendments to certain laws of Ukraine on serving in the military reserve during a special period” No. 6474 dated May 19, registered in the Rada, brings significant changes to the procedure for military service and increased liability for evading mobilization. According to this project, military duty extends not only to those liable for military service and conscripts, but also to reservists, and service in the military reserve differs from performing military duty in the reserve,” the publication says.

According to the bill, reservists and those liable for military service during the period between training camps may be involved in verification training for up to 15 days, both on the job and with by separation. Today this norm does not apply to reservists.

A new type of military registration is being introduced - registration of reservists. The military registration of reservists includes persons who serve in the military reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations. They also propose not to exclude from the registration of reservists men over 40 years of age who have not received military registration or a related specialty.

The most important proposal of the project is strengthening criminal liability. Evasion of Ukrainian citizens from conscription for mobilization (Article 336), including refusal to receive a personal summons to be sent to a military unit (assembly point), is punishable by a fine of one thousand to five thousand non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens of Ukraine (from 17000 to 85000 UAH ). Today there are no penalties. The same acts committed repeatedly are punishable by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years (now from 2 to 5 years).

Evasion of a Ukrainian citizen from military registration (now - after a warning issued by the military commissariat) is proposed to be punished with a fine of one hundred to five hundred non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens, and again - with correctional labor for up to two years or arrest for up to six months.

Changes may also affect Art. 210 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offences. For violation by reservists, persons liable for military service or conscripts of the legislation on military duty and military service, the fine will not be from five to seven =, but from thirty to fifty non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (510 - 850 UAH). Repeated violation within a year will entail liability in the form of a fine, entailing a fine of one hundred to two hundred non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (now - from ten to fifteen).
