Such data was reported by the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovskaya, presenting the results of a public study on the observance of human rights in Ukraine, conducted by the Ombudsman’s Office in cooperation with sociological and human rights organizations.
“Almost a third of Ukrainians today are ready to give up the exercise of their rights and freedoms for the sake of economic growth in the family,” Lutkovskaya said.
According to her, the results of the study showed that another 35% of Ukrainians are not ready to limit their rights for the sake of the family’s material wealth and the same number find it difficult to answer this question.
A nationwide study was conducted in October-December 2016 throughout Ukraine, with the exception of the territory of Donbass not controlled by Kyiv. More than 2 thousand people took part in the survey; the statistical error does not exceed 2,2%.
