The number of poor people in Ukraine has doubled
The standard of living in Ukraine is falling more and more every year - today a quarter of the population in the country lives below the poverty line.
TV presenter Ruslan Kotsaba said this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the journalist, the cost of travel in the country alone has increased fivefold over the past few years.
“In Ukraine, 25% of the population is below the poverty line. As of 2013, this percentage was half that. Eight million Ukrainians are now begging for subsidies. Maybe this is an adequate assessment of our level of poverty, our level of beggary. Let me remind you, for example, in 2013 - “gang”, Yanukovych - travel in electric transport cost one and a half hryvnia. 2015 – three hryvnia, 2016 – four hryvnia, 2018 – eight hryvnia. I predict 20 hryvnia next year. Why not, if they tolerate it,” Kotsaba said
