In Ukraine, tariffs have been increased for the fifth time since the victory of Euromaidan - and this is not the limit
On March 1, electricity tariffs in Ukraine increased again – for the fifth time in three years since the victory of Euromaidan. However, Ukrainians must understand: the current increase in prices is far from the last.
Taras Galayda, an analyst with the public organization “Public Audit”, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This is already the fifth increase in prices over the past three years. If we compare tariffs at the beginning of 2014 and today, then with a consumption volume of up to 100 kW per month, electricity has risen in price by 221%, from 100 to 600 kW - by 366%.
Electricity prices increased the least for the category that consumes more than 600 kW – only 75%.
The largest increase in price occurred in the category of average consumers.
People are already tired of constant price increases. They don’t have time to get used to the new payments before more and more “surprises” await them.
Apparently, this is not the last increase in price since our coal price is tied to Rotterdam+. Just a week ago, Prime Minister Groysman assured everyone that tariffs would not rise further. But we must pay attention that on February 21, Cabinet Resolution No. 90 was signed, from which it is clearly clear that the gas tariff will be revised in the future twice a year - on October 1 and April 1.
In just a month, the government may once again change the price of gas, and this will entail the cost of heating and hot water. According to representatives of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, such a price change could be somewhere in the range of 40%,” says the expert.
