Huge violations during customs clearance of cars were revealed in Ukraine - for 7 billion hryvnia
More than a thousand vehicles were imported into the territory of Ukraine using forged documents and cleared through customs, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, during the investigation, evidence was obtained that confirms a scheme for tax evasion on a particularly large scale by enterprises importing vehicles, in which officials of the customs authorities of the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, business entities, as well as enterprises in the real sector of the economy were involved.
As the department reported, a pre-trial investigation is being carried out in criminal proceedings into the illegal import into the customs territory of Ukraine of more than a thousand vehicles (including buses, trucks, agricultural machinery), which were cleared through customs using forged documents, which caused damage to state interests in the amount of over 7 billion hryvnia.
The suspects were detained on October 19 (under Article 208 of the Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine); their involvement in the commission of crimes has been proven, the issue of choosing a preventive measure is being decided.
