Let us recall that on August 18, 2019, in the Kyiv region, on the way to the Boryspil international airport, law enforcement officers detained three Georgian citizens for robbing an entrepreneur.

As it became known, these are 43-year-old Mirian Gochadze, 41-year-old Tengiz Zanadze and 33-year-old Levan Khutsishvili.

Georgian media report that Mirian Gochadze was the head of the special forces detachment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs until 2013 and left Georgia after the change of power. Tengiz Zanadze also worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 2004 to 2013, and Livan Khutsishvili, who worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs since 2006, was the head of one of the departments in the border police.

After moving from Georgia, all three took an active part in military operations in Eastern Ukraine, and in the last few years they have been engaged in private business. Already this summer, the new President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky gave them Ukrainian citizenship.

According to informed sources, the former police officers planned the attack on the businessman and the theft of his car after the businessman owed them a large sum of money, which he refused to pay.

The investigation is being conducted under Art. 187 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (robbery). The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia confirms the fact of detention and reports that they are actively cooperating with Ukrainian law enforcement officers to investigate this case.
