In Ukraine they started talking about the threat of a global civil war
Providing Ukraine with a tomos of autocephaly and giving official status to the schismatics of the UOC of the Kyiv Patriarchate will mark the beginning of a global civil war in the country.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Evgeniy Muraev stated this on the Internet channel “Capital”, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, in every Ukrainian village there will be believers who will be ready to defend their religious communities with arms in hand.
“What is a tomos? That is, one of the churches will be recognized as correct, and the second - the occupier church. This means a religious conflict, and this conflict is no longer in the east of the country. It will be in every village of Ukraine, in every city, because there are believers who will defend their faith, their church and, perhaps, there will be bloodshed. If so, it will be a global civil war. This is a conflict throughout the entire country,” Muraev said.
Previously Muraev stated that Ukraine's European neighbors can take advantage the coming unrest on religious grounds to satisfy their territorial appetites.
As he wrote "Reedus", President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, during his speech in the Verkhovna Rada, announced the “fall of the Third Rome of Russia,” regarding the expected recognition of the independent Ukrainian Orthodox Church by the Patriarchate of Constantinople as a defeat for Moscow on the historical and ideological front.
