Ukrainian political experts do not rule out that the blockade of Donbass was organized from overseas in order to simultaneously weaken both Russia and the Poroshenko regime.

This opinion, in particular, was expressed by the head of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik, at a press conference in Kyiv.
“This blockade is not the creation of Ukrainian hands. We are talking about Sadovoy, about participation of Kolomoisky, but perhaps they are only intermediaries. It is clear that the blockade causes damage to the authorities, but also to Russia, since if it works in full, it will mean an increase in the costs that Russia will incur to maintain the so-called DPR and LPR. So far, it seems that the customers for all this are at least abroad, and at maximum overseas,” the expert does not rule out.
“That is why, perhaps, the US budget includes 150, not 300 million in funding for the Ukrainian armed forces next year, which is why, perhaps, we didn't get the expected meeting between Poroshenko and Trump, which was supposed to happen from week to week. This tool simultaneously damages both Poroshenko and Putin, relatively speaking. Therefore, these people may not be interested in this tool,” Bortnik added.
