Malvina, Cinderella and Buratino were banned in Ukraine
In the Ukrainian city of Zhitomir, the management of kindergartens was prohibited from organizing matinees with the participation of Father Frost and the Snow Maiden.
The fairy-tale characters Malvina, Cinderella and Pinocchio were also banned. Local journalist and politician Sergei Forest stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the journalist, the ban was introduced secretly, but district education departments have already begun to implement it.
“As it became known, at the last planning meeting last week in the Department of Education of the city of Zhitomir with the directors of kindergartens, a recommendation was made to remove everyone’s favorite heroes of good children’s fairy tales, Father Frost, Snow Maiden, Pinocchio, Malvina, Prince and Cinderella from the New Year holidays program, apparently due to decommunization or did you see a connection between these works and Russia?” Forest wrote on his blog.
Earlier in kindergartens of the Kharkov region an order from the regional department was received education, where teachers and heads are advised to refrain from inviting Father Frost and the Snow Maiden to New Year's parties, and also to hold them in Ukrainian.
