Russian 200 ruble banknotes banned in Ukraine
The National Bank of Ukraine has prohibited all Ukrainian banks and financial institutions from accepting (including for exchange) Russian banknotes and coins that depict any objects located “in the administrative-territorial units of Ukraine occupied by the Russian Federation.”

The ban also applies to Russian banknotes and coins with images of maps and symbols of buildings, monuments of architecture, archeology, history, etc., located in territories beyond the control of Kiev, as well as with inscriptions in the form of texts “relating to the occupation by the Russian Federation administrative-territorial units of Ukraine".
At the same time, Ukrposhta and financial institutions are prohibited from accepting and issuing such banknotes and coins when making or paying transfers.
The NBU message emphasizes that the decision was made “in order to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
