In Ukraine, the verdict in the case of the fake murder of Babchenko was classified
The Prosecutor General's Office has prohibited the publication of the verdict of businessman Boris German, convicted of organizing the failed murder of fugitive Russian propagandist Arkady Babchenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
German’s sentence was handed down on August 30, but has not yet been published in the Unified Register of Judicial Decisions. The Prosecutor General's Office claims that this was done to ensure the safety of those involved in criminal proceedings.
“We clarify that Article 25 of the Law of Ukraine “On ensuring the safety of persons who take part in criminal proceedings” prohibits the disclosure of information about security measures. Disclosure of such information ... entails disciplinary liability, and in cases where the disclosure of such information entailed grave consequences - criminal liability in accordance with current legislation,” the department said in its response to a request from journalists of the Kyiv publication “Left Bank”.
Who and when made the decision to apply security measures to the persons involved in this proceeding is not indicated.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine stated that on August 30, the Goloseevsky District Court of Kyiv sentenced German to 4,5 years in prison for allegedly proven involvement in organizing the “murder” of Babchenko.
