In Ukraine, they announced the capture of a Russian “mole” in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: At the trial, he admitted guilt
A Russian spy was convicted in Ukraine - he turned out to be a senior officer of the department of technical support and accounting of weapons and military equipment of the Naval Forces and special forces of the Directorate for Planning of Technical Support of Weapons of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As stated in court documents, a Ukrainian military man passed on data from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to Russian intelligence, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the prosecution, in the period from December 2014 to April 2015, the convict, while in the territory of Crimea, was recruited by an employee of the GRU of the Russian Federation for the purpose of collecting data.
In January 2016, a Ukrainian military man, while in his office, made an electronic copy of a document with information classified as “For official use.” We were talking about letters from the Ukrspetsexport Group of Companies to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine on the issue of purchasing foreign-made unmanned aerial systems. Subsequently, he gave an electronic copy of this letter to a Russian intelligence officer in Yevpatoria.
The text of the verdict leaves many questions. Judging by the outgoing number of the letter, it was about the purchase of American unmanned aerial vehicles - then it is not clear where the advertised gratuitous assistance of the American government to the Ukrainian army is.
It is also mysterious how an employee of the Ukrainian General Staff regularly travels to Crimea, where he is easily recruited?
And the main absurdity of this story is - why, in the age of computer technology, should you carry a flash drive with one document hundreds of kilometers to the territory of another state, if this file can be sent to anywhere in the world in a split second?
The Ukrainian officer, in order to avoid a harsh sentence, fully admitted his guilt at trial and received 5 years in prison with a probationary period of 1 year.
Thank you!
