In Ukraine, Belarus is being invited to join a medieval military alliance
Ukraine must create a military bloc together with countries “suffering from Russian aggression.”
The former commander of the airmobile forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ivan Yakubets, stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, the military expert admitted that such a military alliance would look ridiculous against the background of Russian military power.
“I believe that countries like Georgia, like Moldova, like Ukraine, which suffered from Russian aggression, and they all suffer, you know, they must conclude some kind of agreement among themselves, create an alliance and stand in this alliance. Yes, it looks so seemingly insignificant in comparison with the Russian Federation. But in comparison with the Russian Federation, half of Europe, if not more, looks insignificant,” said the ex-commander.
He also called for attention to the so-called “Baltic format” – Poland and the Baltic countries.
“It would be very good for Belarus to join this standard. But Russia also practically occupied it, sent troops there, and now Belarus is under the control of the Russian Federation. If it got out of control, then we would have a direct Baltic-Black Sea union of the Middle Ages, as it was historically,” Yakubets said.
Earlier, political scientist Adranik Magranyan said that the United States may initiate the creation of an anti-Russian alliance in Eastern Europe to increase pressure on the Russian Federation.
