“Officially, travel agencies offer foreigners to go to the salt mines of Soledar, to Svyatogorsk or to a champagne wine factory. But you can also visit battlefields and live in the field with the military,” the newspaper reports.
At the same time, the publication says that some foreigners want to visit not only the territory controlled by Ukraine, but also look beyond the demarcation line.
“At first glance, some people got the impression that they were tourists, came to take a selfie, and were not involved in any volunteer or journalistic activities. Under the guise of such foreign journalists, many Polish and Lithuanian citizens constantly come,” former Volunteer Battalion member Sergei told the publication, according to whom such foreign tourists no longer need intermediaries - if you get to Mariupol, you’ll go further in any direction.
“At checkpoints, if there are no problems with the documents, they will let you through. And as payment they can take cigarettes, alcohol, canned meat, bulletproof vests and helmets, first aid kits or money,” the volunteer member specified.
