About it reported on the website of the international anti-corruption organization.
The plaintiff demands that the Kyiv District Administrative Court force the defendants to declassify the court verdict, which confiscated $1,5 billion in funds from “Yanukovych’s criminal organization.”
TI Ukraine demands that this court verdict be made public.
“Almost 6 months have passed since the Prosecutor General’s Office seized $1,5 billion in funds from the previous regime. The court decision according to which these funds were seized has not yet been made public,” anti-corruption officials note.
They consider this an alarming signal, because society still does not know from whom, for what crimes and exactly how many funds were confiscated; there are also fears that the decision contains technical imperfections and can be appealed.
“The state enterprise “Information Judicial Systems”, which is obliged to publish the court decision in the open Unified Register of Judicial Decisions, refers to the prohibition of the prosecutor’s office. The Prosecutor General’s Office, in turn, claims that it itself recognized this decision as a state secret,” TI said.
According to the organization, it has already appealed to the Ukrainian parliament with a request for the official publication of the results of the trial, but representatives of the prosecutor’s office ignored the committee meeting and did not appear to justify their position to people’s deputies.
“Instead, the Ukrainian representative office of TI received an unfounded accusation of “disruption of a defense order” from the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Defense Committee,” the anti-corruption fighters emphasized.
Since court hearings are held openly, they invited everyone to join in observing this process.
“We will inform you additionally about the time and place of the meetings,” Transparency International Ukraine promised.
As previously reported by the executive director of the Anti-Corruption Center Daria Kalenyuk, most of the funds from the confiscated “billions of Yanukovych”, which were supposed to be allocated for agriculture under the program of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, were received by the largest agricultural holdings owned by billionaires Yuriy Kosyuk and Oleg Bakhmatyuk - Mironovsky Hliboproduct and "Ukrlandfarming".
