Kyiv, September 01 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – A federal structure, contrary to Ukrainian state propaganda, could help eliminate the inequality between the western and eastern parts of Ukraine.
Kiev political scientist Anton Finko stated this on the ICTV channel in the program “Freedom of Speech”.
“There are examples in history when federations strengthened the unity of a country - India or the Federal Republic of Germany. And there is the other way around, when the federation could not stop the processes, as in Yugoslavia,” he reminded his colleagues in the studio, who flatly refused to allow the possibility of Ukraine turning into a federation.

“The problem is not the form of government. If there is no common identity, if one part of the country has the opportunity to claim what is an authentic national - Ukrainian Ukraine, and the other is deprived of the opportunity to claim an authentic national identity, this situation undermines the foundations of statehood,” Finko noted.
