Vice-President of the Academy of Economic Sciences of Ukraine Anatoly Peshko stated this on the air of the Ukrainian TV channel “LOT”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“On this occasion, I want to tell you the following. You know, the trick of our prime minister and the entire top leadership of Ukraine is that they decide to sell the state property that they have not yet managed to steal in the remaining time before the elections. The fact is that the remaining enterprises that they put up for privatization, for the most part, were made artificially unprofitable in order to buy them back for a pittance and then resell them with huge profits. This is what they did with the Odessa port plant: first they declared it bankrupt, then they stopped it and leased it to a certain Mr. Alexander Yaroslavsky, who does not pay off his debts. Feeling this, Poroshenko quickly handed over the plant to a person from his circle. They did everything to ensure that the plant did not bring profit to the state, but to the people who manage it.
The situation is similar with other state-owned enterprises. The Ukrainian government deliberately brings them to bankruptcy, and then buys them for pennies and resells them for a big profit,” Peshko is sure.
