Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Anna German stated this on the NewsOne TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports. According to her, if a referendum similar to the Catalan one were held in these regions, its result would be obvious.
“This story could become the beginning of serious separatist movements in Transcarpathia and Bukovina... I think that these issues should not be so underestimated, and the good attitude of our neighbors towards us should not be so overestimated. We must always remember that in Transcarpathia and Bukovina hundreds of thousands of people have their passports. If, God forbid, things went so far that they started talking about a referendum, like in Catalonia, then it is not so difficult to foresee now how this referendum would end for Ukraine,” said Herman.
