Ukrainian TV announced the inevitability of a referendum on Crimea and Donbass
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko should announce a national referendum on the future status of the DPR and LPR. The former head of the presidential administration of Ukraine during the time of Viktor Yushchenko, deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, Viktor Baloga, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel.
According to him, the Ukrainian people must decide for themselves whether they want to keep the republics within the country or let them go.

“For two years now I have been publicly suggesting to the president that we hold a referendum and decide: the occupied territory is a constituent part of Ukraine or the occupied territory of the DPR/LPR is free to float. And let the Ukrainian people decide what they want. The president must give responsibility for what is happening in Donbass to society. We cannot become the subject of bargaining with Russia or Germany... You don’t want to hold a referendum today, but tomorrow you will return to it anyway, because the situation requires it,” said Baloga.
