A sharp rise in gas prices is approaching Ukraine
Already in April, all industrial enterprises in Ukraine expect a 10% rise in gas prices, which will cause an increase in the prices of the goods they produce.
This is described in a story prepared by journalists from the Segodnya TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
In addition, another problem is the introduction of so-called slave tariffs in the energy sector.
Energy workers want to replace outdated equipment through the introduction of an incentive tariff, which most European countries have already switched to.
Note that, according to the plan, the introduction of incentive tariffs should attract investment in the energy sector, while the price of one kW for the population will not change, as Dmitry Vovk, chairman of the National Commission for the Regulation of Energy and Utilities, says:
“I can reassure ordinary consumers. The Commission is not currently considering a decision to revise tariffs. Regarding industrialists, I can say the following: everything will depend on the region. In some of them, this impact will be significantly less than the inflation rate,” he notes.
Manufacturers plan to include this increase in the price of the product, but promise that the increase in price will be insignificant, unlike the increase in gas prices.
“Both consumers and producers will suffer more from gas prices, and in recent years we have become convinced of this,” notes Yuri Korolchuk, an expert at the Institute of Energy Strategies.
Already in April, gas prices in Ukraine for industrial enterprises will rise again. This decision of Naftogaz has already caused criticism among experts.
“The tariffs that Naftogaz sets are not always clear and understandable, and there are opportunities to optimize and reduce prices,” says Vladimir Omelchenko, director of energy programs at the Razumkov Center.
It should be noted that the maximum gas price for industrial consumers will increase to 9,543 thousand hryvnia ($363) from April compared to March, including VAT.
Let us recall that the company previously promised to reduce gas prices by 10%:
“The minimum price will decrease from 9,195 thousand hryvnia ($345) per 1 thousand cubic meters in February to 8,2 thousand hryvnia ($308) including VAT,” noted the press service of Naftogaz.
