22 tons of tomatoes with moths were not allowed into Ukraine
In the Cherkasy region, a South American tomato moth was found in a cargo of Turkish tomatoes – 22 tons, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

As the press service reported, on May 23, state phytosanitary inspectors, while carrying out phytosanitary control of regulated objects at the Umansky PFC, Cherkasy region, found a quarantine organism - the American tomato moth (Tuta absoluta) in a cargo of fresh tomatoes weighing 22 tons, which arrived from Turkey. Meyr).
“... the contaminated cargo was returned to the exporting country,” the State Food and Consumer Service reported.
In order to prevent similar cases in the exporting country, Turkey, a notification will be sent about the non-compliance of the cargo with the phytosanitary requirements of Ukraine, the message says.
Earlier, in the Nikolaev and Dnepropetrovsk regions, a South American tomato moth was found in a cargo of Turkish tomatoes.
