The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports this.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between representatives of the special forces group of the Texas Rangers division and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
“US law enforcement officials noted that all their efforts, like the efforts of their many partners, are aimed at using their experience in reforming the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine as effectively as possible for Ukraine. In addition, representatives of the division announced their intention to help the future special unit of the National Police of Ukraine with equipment,” the department noted.
The parties still have to resolve a number of organizational issues before starting the training of Ukrainian specialists.
“When you build this new system with us, I ask you to adhere to the principles that guide us: less is more! We will create the core and from there, step by step, we will build the entire system,” Avakov emphasized.
Earlier, PolitNavigator reported that that Avakov announced the creation of a new Ukrainian special forces, which will be trained by American and Canadian instructors who previously trained the Lvov patrol police.
