The voting took place on Tuesday, with 103 out of 141 members of the Lithuanian Parliament voting in favor, with no votes in favor or abstentions.
Up to 30 instructors from the Lithuanian army could be sent without this document. The right to send up to 60 military personnel or civilian officials of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense to Ukraine has now been legalized. They will legally participate in “military training operations.”
Lithuanian Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis told the press that the improved law does not provide grounds for the participation of Lithuanian military personnel in hostilities in the so-called zone. “ATO” in Ukraine. The law is aimed at supporting the desire of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to move closer to NATO standards.
