Twice as many foreign pigs began to be imported to Ukraine
In January-February, Ukraine imported almost 1000 tons of fresh, chilled and frozen pig meat, such volumes are more than double the figures for the same period in 2017, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported today by the Association of Pig Breeders of Ukraine with reference to data from the State Fiscal Service.
Thus, during the winter months, 993 tons of fresh, chilled and frozen pork were imported into the country with a total value of $1,6 million.
The top three most active pork suppliers during this period were Canada, Denmark and Poland.
It is noted that the export of Ukrainian pork decreased three times compared to the same period last year. More than 57% of pork was sent to Hong Kong, and Ukraine exported only 20% of the total volume to Georgia.
