Everyone is profiting from martial law - from Poroshenko to smaller traders
Ukrainian businessmen benefit from the panic that spread among the population due to the introduction of martial law.
Kiev political strategist Dmitry Raimov said this on TV channel 112, commenting on messages that appeared on social networks about a rush in stores where people were sweeping cereals, salt and other goods off the shelves in case of an emergency.
“As for salt and all the food products that were disappearing from the shelves. Let's be honest. In 2/3 of cases, the retail chains themselves are to blame. That is, something is removed from the shelves, the price is set two or three times higher, especially in small shops rather than large supermarkets, and the daily revenue increases three or four times. This is largely the fault of people who believe that they can make money on such things. Usually these are fuel and essential products,” Raimov said, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Earlier, publicist Nikolai Starikov stated that Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and NSDC Secretary Alexander Turchynov are using the martial law imposed in Ukraine to obtain millions in profits, artificially collapsing the hryvnia and increasing demand for the dollar.
