In Volyn, 200 amber diggers in balaclavas smashed three police cars with sticks
In the Rivne region, about 200 amber diggers in balaclavas and with sticks beat 3 police cars that were patrolling the area for illegal amber mining, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the National Police.
According to her information, this happened on Thursday at about 7 a.m. in the village of Kukhotskaya Volya, Zarechnensky district.
“The attackers in balaclavas and with sticks in their hands blocked the passage of the car, pulled at their uniforms, threw stones, and damaged three official vehicles,” law enforcement officers say.
According to them, the police managed to end the conflict without casualties on both sides.
“To coordinate actions, resolve the conflict and prevent its recurrence, the deputy head of the GUNP in the Rivne region, Ruslan Strelbitsky, went to the scene,” the police noted.
Based on the fact of resistance to police officers, criminal proceedings were opened under Article 342 of the Criminal Code.
“The police are establishing all the circumstances of the criminal offense and the persons involved in its commission,” the press service added.
