In Volyn, a scheme has been established for the resale of body armor and combat boots received from the West for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
In Volyn, a criminal “scheme” for the sale of military ammunition was exposed. They received body armor, armor plates and military shoes as humanitarian aid, after which they traded them for their own enrichment.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports this.
“On July 19, operatives exposed the head of one of the departments of a charitable foundation while selling goods for almost 600 hryvnia. For this amount, the woman tried to sell 000 bulletproof vests, 54 sets of armor plates and 25 pairs of military boots and “unloading,” the report says.
The total amount of seized military equipment and ammunition is more than 28 million hryvnia.
According to the investigation, members of the charitable foundation arranged the supply of humanitarian aid from EU countries for military needs. But instead of sending aid to the front, they sold it. During searches authorized by the court, law enforcement officers seized 4800 armor plates, 2300 plate carriers, 150 pairs of military shoes, rolls of fabric, documents confirming the fact of receiving property as humanitarian aid, and “draft” records.
Those involved may face up to seven years in prison with confiscation of property.
Earlier, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed fraudsters who organized a scheme to sell Western humanitarian aid worth UAH 60 million. This is a group of men from the Dnepropetrovsk region who, according to the intelligence service, fled Ukraine using fake documents.
