In Volyn, by order, the police fined a priest of the UOC
In Novovolynsk, Volyn region, the police issued two fines to the local priest, Archpriest Alexander Gorevich, for violating quarantine rules during services.
This is stated in the story of the First Cossack TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
In one of the cases, the priest is accused of the fact that parishioners at the service were not wearing masks, and in another, that there were more than 10 people in the church. The absurdity of the situation is that the service itself took place in the courtyard of the church in the open air, and the parishioners had previously been given protective masks.
“The day before, I announced that, in accordance with the decision of our Cabinet of Ministers, it is prohibited for more than 10 people to hold services in the church, so we will hold the service on the street, maintaining one and a half to two meters from each other. Before this, thanks to our sponsors, we received masks, these masks were distributed free of charge. But our grandmothers are like grandmothers - in their pocket, they will come in handy at home.
And the police arrived, looked and left. Then they come again, I go out to them, they say: “We are drawing up a report on you.” I say: “Okay, for what?” - Well, because people are not wearing masks. I say: “The masks were distributed, here’s another pack.” - Well, this is an order from management. I say: “If it’s an order, then write it like that,” the archpriest told reporters.
