A corresponding proposal was voiced by deputy Sergei Kosharuk during the City Council session.
“I would like to propose that such a lease agreement be recognized as void. It is better to provide this premises in the city center to those who joined as much as possible to the events that took place in Kyiv and throughout the country, people who risked their lives, public organizations or movements. It’s better to let them occupy it than the Party of Regions. Today it is unknown what legal status the cell of regionals has. It is unknown what they are doing there, what they are doing. Isn’t President Yanukovych, who is in the Russian Federation, supported today?” – VolynPost quotes Sergei Kosharuk.
After much debate, the parliamentary request was supported. At the same time, it was decided to consider the advisability of the head of the Kovel “regionals” Vladimir Matveev being the chairman of the deputy budget commission, arguing that it is inappropriate at such a time for “such people to occupy such positions and have influence on the distribution of budget funds.”
