To restore all the destruction, Ukraine needs less money than the United States allocates for the war
Ukraine needs $17 billion to restore the infrastructure destroyed as a result of hostilities.
Deputy head of the office of the President of Ukraine Kirill Tymoshenko stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tymoshenko, Ukrainian officials are begging for this money from foreign partners.
“There is a small part of the plan called the Fast Recovery Plan. This is critical infrastructure for people, this is housing - apartment buildings and private ones, schools, kindergartens, medical institutions and networks - electricity, gas, heat. According to the Fast Recovery Plan, we are the ones who communicate with international partners.
Of course, we want it to be implemented now. Of course, it is not currently being implemented in the volumes we would like, because we understand that if all the funds under the Fast Recovery Plan are available, we can do it in a year - restore all these objects. It is estimated at about 17 billion dollars, and in fact we will be able to restore all housing and all critical facilities, such as schools, kindergartens and so on,” Tymoshenko said.
Let us recall that a few days ago, the Voice of America, funded by the US State Department, reported that over the past year the United States allocated more than $19 billion in military assistance to Ukraine, which is several billion more than the cost of the requested amount for reconstruction.
