Former Secretary of the DPR Security Council Alexander Khodakovsky was not allowed into the DPR when trying to enter the republic to register to participate in the upcoming elections. Khodakovsky himself announced this in his Telegram channel.

“I don’t have the slightest desire to comment on the situation, but I am obliged to explain why I will not be able to take part in the elections. Last night, when returning home from Russia, at the Uspensky border checkpoint, Russian border guards explained to me in a simple but correct manner that they would not let me out, and that I needed to return back to the Russian Federation. The reasons were not given, but they are already clear. I have no questions or complaints about the performers, and, in principle, about the customers too. Now, judging by the sign on the wall of the office in which the conversation took place, my status is called “temporarily unmissed.” Everyone who feared my coming to power can now sleep peacefully. Bye. I want to tell my friends: we will break through, it has happened worse. Thank you for the work done to prepare for the elections, nothing is in vain,” Khodakovsky wrote.

The DPR fears that Pavel Gubarev, who also announced his intention to participate in the upcoming election campaign, may not be allowed into the republic under the same scheme.

“Pavel Gubarev is now heading from Moscow to the DPR. We are watching online to see if he will enter the Republic,” local parliament member Vladislav Berdichevsky wrote in his blog.

Donetsk political observer Roman Manekin believes that the clumsy “cleansing” of Pushilin’s potential competitors is a mistake by the Moscow curators of the republic. “Pushilin is unpopular. Extremely... And by obstructing Khodakovsky, they create a protest image for him,” says Manekin.

Pushilin himself took part in a rally the day before, where, according to the script, those gathered asked him to nominate himself to participate in the November elections. The event turned out to be not sincere, notes rebel Alexander Zhuchkovsky.

“The people are in full swing... Like they held a people’s meeting... They begged, you know, for the whole world to lead the republic. Pushilin hesitated, sighed (“well, since the people want...”) and agreed. Just rubbish,” comments Zhuchkovsky.

“The situation is not good, people are irritated,” the militiaman added.

Earlier, political scientist Alexei Chesnakov, close to the Kremlin, stated that the current acting. leaders of the Donbass republics will win the upcoming elections in November with a landslide result.
