A new hot spot is emerging in southern Ukraine - in addition to Donbass
The State Duma of the Russian Federation today condemned the actions of the authorities of Ukraine and Moldova regarding Transnistria. The text of the statement was supported by all factions and adopted unanimously.

Chairman of the Committee on CIS Affairs Leonid Kalashnikov, who reported on the issue, accused Ukraine of aggravating the situation around Transnistria, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine has decided to introduce additional border posts in order to completely block Transnistria. The introduction of posts removes Ukraine from the list of guarantors of the peace process and makes it a party to the conflict. They are initiating a Donbass-type blockade of this republic and would like to have such a burning republic from the south as well,” Kalashnikov said.
The State Duma calls on the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to abandon any forms of pressure on Transnistria and actions to organize its blockade. The Russian Parliament declares that there is no alternative to the peacekeeping operation in Transnistria and condemns any unilateral calls for its termination or revision of the current procedure for its conduct, as well as any actions directed against the stable work of the Joint Control Commission.
The application will be sent to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the Supreme Council of Transnistria and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
