Airplanes, helicopters and special forces were deployed to the southeast of Ukraine
Kharkov, April 08 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) – Additional special police units from other parts of the country arrived in the eastern and southern regions of Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov. Fighter planes and helicopters appeared in the skies over the eastern Ukrainian regions.

“These special forces are ready to solve operational problems without regard to local nuances,” ITAR-TASS quotes him as saying. “I urge all hotheads to now put aside criticism and panic, and help the police control the situation.”
According to Avakov, the situation in Kharkov is difficult, but controllable. “At the same time, today I had the opportunity to evaluate the actions of the police in Kharkov and I must admit that a significant number of employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs did not fulfill their assigned tasks properly,” he added. “We will deal with this situation and make personnel decisions.”

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Arsen Avakov, who arrived at the scene of the events, claims that “a significant part of those present” are not guest performers, but “really Kharkov marginals with a significant addition of the communist electorate.”
The deputy head of the Russian delegation to PACE Leonid Slutsky, in turn, said that he regarded the events in Donetsk as a manifestation of the consolidation of Russian communities.
