“It is likely that the cause of the shutdown is loss of generator excitation. The reactor installation of power unit No. 3 has been unloaded to 10% of its rated capacity. There are no problems with the operation of the reactor plant,” nuclear scientists said, noting that the equipment of the first and second power units of the nuclear power plant operates without problems in the specified mode.
As the press service of Energoatom emphasizes, this event has no connection with the operation of Westinghouse fuel, but concerns exclusively the operation of the electrical part of the equipment.
