The West continues to mock Russian athletes under the pretext of a doping scandal
Vladimir Zhirinovsky is outraged by the incident at a checkers competition in Poland, when a Russian athlete had the Russian national flag removed from the table right during the match. The LDPR leader proposes giving athletes military escort.
“What will they do next? Force athletes from Russia to change their hairstyles? Clothes? Shoes? The Poles are crossing all reasonable boundaries, all red lines. And all this, of course, will fall into the treasury of negative actions of the Poles towards our country, for which they will have to answer. In the future, we can send our airborne regiment to accompany athletes at competitions in Poland in order to secure their participation in the tournament, so that no one dares to stretch out their hands in the Russian flag,” Zhirinovsky wrote in his Telegram channel.
In Poland, during the match of the Women's World Drafts Championship between Poland's Natalya Sadowska and Russia's Tamara Tansykkuzhina, by order of WADA President Witold Banka, the former head of the European Drafts Federation, Jacek Pawlicki, removed the Russian flag from the table right during the meeting.
Polish checker player Sadovskaya, as a sign of solidarity with her Russian rival Tansykkuzhina, also removed the Polish flag.
“It doesn't look nice. I didn't know how Tamara would react, but we have no choice. We didn't do anything wrong. FMJD (World Checkers Organization – ed.) overslept the decision of December, when Russian athletes were deprived of the right to compete under their flag, and if we do not immediately take action now, FMJD will be expelled from WADA,” Pavlitsky explained his actions.
