The fake news that has recently appeared in the media is a “dress rehearsal for the great battle for Moscow” that will unfold next year during the federal election campaign.
Chairman of the Media Commission of the Public Chamber of Russia Alexander Malkevich stated this today at a meeting of the Interim Commission of the Federation Council for the Protection of State Sovereignty, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Fakes about the upcoming elections are already spreading. We see that on social networks they announced the collection of 200 thousand observers who will work, it is clear in whose interests, in the elections next year. It is clear that this project has foreign funding, and it is necessary to put this matter under the most serious control now.
An alternative CEC website has been created. There are already two sites that will conduct alternative vote counting, two sites that plan to record violations that supposedly should occur in the elections. At the same time, they removed the filter that allowed them to check whether the source is reliable. Now a random person can write any nonsense on this site, and this will be considered a violation,” Malkevich said.
He drew attention to the fact that professional journalists who have worked in reputable domestic media for a long time are used for agitation and propaganda of a subversive anti-Russian nature. For example, former employees of the Vedomosti newspaper launched a project called Vtimes, which is associated with the Dutchman Derk Sauer, who has long supported the non-systemic opposition in Russia.
The expert believes that in Russia - just like in Belarus - bloggers will be used who will encourage subscribers from abroad to engage in illegal activities. The channels “Nehta RU”, “Nehta Russia”, “Russia Next” have already been created.
“They want Russia to be next next year,” Malkevich concluded.
