In the West, tourists who want to travel to Crimea are intimidated
Many Western countries do their best to prevent their citizens who want to travel to Crimea as tourists. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova announced this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Zakharova, easing the visa regime is unlikely to increase the flow of foreign tourists to Crimea - we are talking about political reasons on the part of the leadership of Western countries.
“The point is not to facilitate or modify the issuance of a Russian visa for foreign tourists who are going to visit Crimea.
This is a matter of direct prohibition or threats from the governments of a number of countries, mainly EU countries, the USA, Canada, Australia and so on, to their citizens, who are manually intimidated, dissuaded, and sanctions are imposed on companies.
We see this in everything - from the designation of Crimea in tourist routes on the Internet and on the websites of relevant companies to direct warnings given by officials before the start of the tourist season, or without any reason at all, to travel agents, campaigns or directly to citizens.
Therefore, easing the visa regime in this case will not be a panacea, because people are simply intimidated, dissuaded, and so on,” noted the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
