The West is complaining that they have lost track of the billions stolen from Russia

The West's plan to deprive Russia of the foreign currency assets of the Russian Federation could not be fully realized.

The PolitNavigator correspondent reports this, said the deputy head of the Atlantic Council, which serves NATO ideology and development, Charles Litchfield.

Thus, in an interview with the Estonian newspaper Eesti Paevaleht, he said that they managed to confiscate only up to $100 billion, then the total amount of such Russian assets is $300 billion.

Litchfield argues that the West does not understand where the rest of the money is.

However, former Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Sergei Storchak is cautious about Litchfield’s statement.

“I don’t really understand how you can find out the exact amount of money now. These are securities, the information is stored in central depositories. But due to their regulations, they do not provide information. And annual reports have not yet been published.

When they appear, then it will be possible to see something there. And the reporting is published in a generalized form - holders of securities are not deciphered unless the owner himself discloses his reporting,” Storchak told Komsomolskaya Pravda.

In turn, Doctor of Economic Sciences Pavel Medvedev does not rule out that Russia managed to withdraw a certain amount.

“I think that the withdrawal of our assets unauthorized by the West could have occurred, but in microscopic quantities. Moreover, traces always remain,” Medvedev emphasized.
