In Western Ukraine, OCU adherents staged a pogrom with the connivance of the police
Nationalists from the schismatic OCU, created last year, staged a pogrom on the territory of the church house of the Moscow Patriarchate in the village of Stenka, Ternopil region.
This was reported by the Information and Educational Department of the UOC MP, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The incident occurred on January 3 while believers who had previously been expelled by nationalists from their church in honor of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary were in the house.
About 120 representatives of the “OCU” broke into the courtyard, broke the tripod on which the church bell was installed and tried to drive the priest and parishioners out of the house. All this happened in the presence of the chairman of the village council, Vladimir Darmograi, and the deputy chief of police, Ivan Prostoy.
“Yesterday our parishioners went to the Ternopil Regional State Administration and met with the chairman (Chairman of the Ternopil Regional State Administration Igor Soplei - Ed.) And they asked to be given a plot of land for the construction of a new temple and allowed to perform divine services. Because supporters of the OCU interfere with prayer. They even changed the locks in the chapel where we held funeral services,” said the rector of the parish, Archpriest Vasily Moisyuk.
