According to his wife, the journalist was detained for 36 hours until a court hearing, which will decide on the preventive measure.
On Saturday, Kotsaba’s home was searched, which lasted from 9 a.m. to 15 p.m. The search was carried out by SBU officers.
As PolitNavigator reported, in early January, well-known journalist in the Carpathian region Ruslan Kotsaba initiated the action “I am against mobilization.”
“I inform you, taking advantage of my popularity, that I ask you not to even send me a summons in connection with the next wave of mobilization. I clearly know the article of responsibility. It’s better for me to spend 2 to 5 years in prison than to deliberately kill my compatriots who live in the east,” Kotsaba said in his address to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. “I refuse mobilization, and I ask all reasonable people to refuse mobilization.” This horror must be stopped."
After this, in Ivano-Frankivsk, while Kotsaba was filming a report on the torchlight procession of nationalists he was attacked by the son-in-law of Right Sector leader Dmitry Yarosh, Vasily Abramov.
“Take it off for the Muscovites. I won't let you promote yourself at this holiday. You are a traitor. Tell me, tell society how you sang songs to the Kremlin. You are a lackey and an opportunist who should be thrown into a hole,” Abramov shouted.
