As the TV channel “Ukraine” reports, out of 420 thousand displaced people, a little more than 30 thousand people have work. No one knows what the rest should do.
“Where to go next, what to do next, I don’t know. Because rental prices are very high. They don’t always want to take in displaced people,” student Roman, who came from Crimea to Kyiv, complained to reporters.
“Lviv is the only city that is showing a trend towards growing demand not only for housing and rentals, but also for the office segment. This suggests that some migrants from Crimea and the eastern regions are more willing to move their business directly closer to the western borders,” said Elena Shulyak, Chairman of the Council of the Ukrainian Construction Society.
According to the director of the consulting company Yaroslava Chapko, demand in the primary housing market has decreased by 20-30%. The main transactions take place in the segment up to $50 thousand, and developers are ready to offer such a product to buyers. Apartments in ready-made buildings stand idle with almost no buyers: most banks have frozen mortgage products, and those who risk lending money demand exorbitant interest rates.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Ukrainian government has provided assistance to disabled citizens in the amount of 884 UAH. per person for rental housing, and for able-bodied people - 442 UAH. per person (family member).
