“For several years now, passions around illegal amber fishing have not subsided in the locality. The showdown was such that even law enforcement officers refused to interfere. And today the TSN film crew in Rivne received a call from residents of Stary Selo and told them that unknown people had come to them with automatic weapons. It seems that in order to “cover” the extraction of amber... The locals fought back. There are wounded and even one hostage. The village defenders promised to hand over this hostage to the police only in the presence of TSN journalists. People no longer trust local law enforcement officers to such an extent,” TSN claims.
