In Lutsk, an unknown terrorist armed with explosives and firearms seized a bus with hostages.
This was reported by the National Police Department in the Volyn region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to law enforcement officials, there are about 20 passengers and a driver on the bus.
“The “Hostage” operational plan has been introduced in the region. The area of the city center is closed to ensure the safety of citizens. All police services are on site,” the statement said.
The local news agency "Volyn" reports that the emergency occurred on Theater Maidan, snipers were positioned on the roof of the Central Department Store, and shots were also heard.
“Several shots were heard. At about 10.22 eyewitnesses heard machine gun fire. They shot at the bus or from the bus, which, by the way, there are people on board, is still unknown,” the message says.
The identity of the terrorist who seized the bus remains unknown. Now the police are trying to negotiate with him.
Meanwhile, a video message from the alleged criminal appeared on social networks. In the video, he, with a machine gun in his hands, calls for “breaking the system” and “don’t deceive yourself.” The video was published by user Maxim Plokhoy.
