Pressure began on defenders of journalist Muravitsky
The trial in the case of journalist Vasily Muravitsky, accused by the SBU of “high treason,” continues to be artificially delayed. Moreover, members of nationalist organizations, with the direct support of the local administration, do not hesitate to express direct threats against the lawyers defending Muravitsky.
Human rights activist Andrei Gozhy told a PolitNavigator correspondent about this.

“The next court hearing in the case of Vasily Muravitsky has been postponed to November 24. I would like to begin the analysis of evidence and a public trial. But we see that open, direct pressure begins from the pro-government so-called “activists” and people in camouflage.
At a session of the regional council, they said that the “separatists” Muravitsky and Kuznetsov, as well as their defenders, need to be “carried forward feet first” and “dealt with according to the laws of war.”
In a supposedly European country in the twenty-first century, at a session of the regional council, they voiced direct threats against lawyers, and it’s not that no one made any comments - they also accepted some kind of appeal to the SBU. True, I haven’t seen it yet, but it’s very interesting to read.
We will look into this issue. I have little faith that we will be heard in Zhytomyr and Ukraine in general, but for UN and OSCE observers this will be very interesting information,” the lawyer concluded.
